Noooo the Equerry cannot be Lord Hunter-Fox. Tho he is kinda sexy. ;) Isn't Mary Kelly the name of the last victim of Jack the Ripper, forgive me if I'm wrong. Hail, hail the gang's all here - nice to some of the main characters together. As horrid as Alex is, it's great that he's campaigning for women's sufferage. Could this be his redeeming feature? Thank so much Shez for a wonderful chapter!
Author's Response: Yes, Mary is the final Ripper victim - poor thing. Alex might be about to turn a corner, in terms of his moral development! Thanks for the review!

So Lord Hunter-Fox is definitely not the equerry. I have my suspicions though. LOL It’s probably a good think Molly and Mary didn’t run into him. I think they would be putting themselves in a great deal of danger.
Alex seemed genuinely concerned about poor Molly, but I don’t blame her for not trusting him. I wonder what you are going to do with Alex…mmm.
I am wondering what is happening to poor Jessie.
Anyway, thank you for another lovely chapter!

Aw Shez, I am sorry. I thought I had left a review for this.
I am glad to see Lord Hunter-Fox and Florence having such a lovely time on their honeymoon. It’s interesting to see that most of Lord Hunter-Fox’s control issues are based on insecurity. I’m glad to see that he might loosen up a bit. Like the song, he should “hold on loosely, but don’t let go.” Otherwise he might loose control. LOL
This was another great chapter!

Awwww. The Paris you are painting sounds lovely. Can't wait to hear more from their honeymoon. Good to see that both Robert and Florence have mellowed.

This chapter is so lovely, and I'm so glad that Hunter-Fox is loosening up. I feel sorry for the chap and all his insecurities, but really, let the girl have some fun--provided Florence can behave herself and not get into too much mischief. Stunning as usual, dear... Oh to be in Paris!

Eeeek! Jessie is in a bad way.
I am actually relieved to read this chapter though, for I was afraid they would be ready to slice and dice poor Jessie, strapping her down to that nasty operating table they have. Yikes.
The Equerry seems to be a little taken with Jessie though, which gives me some hope.
I thought you did the action scene in the tub so well. I could just imagine being Jessie in the water, holding her breath, waiting for the Equerry’s dark shadow. Then when she smacks him in the head! Wow! It was exciting. You write action scenes well!
I hope Jessie escapes or someone saves her. What a horrible thought being a prisoner for life. It makes me think of The Collector. :(
The Equerry is like an evil Lord Hunter-Fox, still sexy, but ominous.
Excellent chapter my dear!

Ah! Bloody brilliant, my dear. The ending was superb, and I am just a teensy bit in love with the Equerry. Hunter-Fox is still foremost in my heart but... Anyway, amazing chapter. One of my favourite stories on the web.

Just caught up on the latest seven or eight chapters! Oh my goodness! I am so very glad that I didn't have to wait for some of those... and #42 leaves me on the edge of my seat and awash with conjectures regarding the identity of The Equerry.
Loved the Mikado connection a few chapters back. With Jessie seeing the dancing due to opium and Flo listening to the same music at a soiree. A fantastic way of drawing their fates together and keeping both threads interwoven.

Reposting as my spelling was horrible.
Ahahah "Im." Poor equerry. So he does have a heart. Sort of (just wants Jessie eh!). Poor Jessie! Hope she gets out. Would have thought she'd have known who the equerry was with his relationship to Flo, if your hints as to his identity are not a red herring!
What about Molly? And the Hunter-Foxes! Oh liberty thanks for this great chapter.
Thumbs up on the Maugham title!

I am so worried about Jessie! The only thing that makes me relax, is that you told me she would have a happy ending. I am still fretting though.
So is Alex going to finally do something good for once and save her? It’s hard to imagine him ever thinking of anyone but himself, but he owes Jessie and Vyvyan for taking care of him.
I am sorry to read that Molly has been laid low by illness. But at least this might keep her out of trouble. I still think Mary is bad news.
I am very much looking forward to your next chapter! I want to know what has happened to Jessie!

Short, but sweet though. I am worried about Jessie; it all seems so malicious and cruel. I hope Vyvyan and Alex find her... although her kidnapper is quite attractive. Anyway, can't wait for more.
Best,

Just saw your comments Liberty, yipee! Ahaha never realized they didn't have a proper honeymoon. Is it going to offscreen or in the story? Hope the Lady teaches the Lord to stop being so narrow-minded. And give him a taste of his own medicine, perhaps? Argh cannot wait for the Archduke and Molly sub-plots. Thanks so much for another magnificent chapter and for answering the comments.

Noooo! Oh my gosh Jess missing and Molly with typhoid (lol was thinking Typhoid Mary!) What a cliffy. Please let em be ok Liberty, they've been thrown with such a hard lot as it is. Aha, but nice to know Alex actually cares about someone else for a change. I'm beginning to think he isn't so bad, what with the female emancipation and all (what happened to that). Thank for you another chapter! More of the Hunter-Foxes too please :D

Yay, I've caught up. This is my favorite distraction. I hope that Florence gets to tie our dear Lord Hunter-Fox up and whallop him on the nethers. He might just like it. *grin*
As usual, the writing was superb. You're a smutstress of the highest caliber. The pacing is still keeping me on tenterhooks.
xoxox
Author's Response: In a few chapter's time, Florence and Hunter-Fox are going on their honeymoon - and let's just say it will be an enlightening time for both of them ;).
