I like the angle you took with this story - I find it far more believable than many of the other marriage law fics I've read, and also quite sweet, but not saccharine - a great plus.
This is how I imagine two pragmatists (as they are) would handle a situation like this I think,and, according to 2 friends of mine who have happy arranged marriages - how most couples who come from cultures where arranged marriages are the norm, approach it.
And I loved the last conversation, and your closing line.
Now.... on to the sequel!

Is this going to get finished? I like the simple approach to the ML challenge.
Author's Response: This was a one-shot. I did write a sequel which is posted here as well, called There they were - In Love.
When I began reading the ML fics, most had Hermione already in love with him or at least besotted with him. I just figured, I'd take a different approach.
