I was married straight out of high school and have been married for 30 years. I loved your story and agree that it is horrible to give up who you are for a marriage. I wanted to wait and finish collage but my husband was older than I and said he couldn't wait. I love him more than anyone else on this planet but I still regret and resent the fact that I never got to finish collage. I just wasn't able to be a good mum, work and make a go of collage more than a few classes at a time. I don't really know how other women do it. That was only one of the many parts of myself I gave up to preserve my marriage. I would wait until I finished my education and had some fun if I could do it over, but I've never wanted to be married to anyone else. I enjoy this kind of SS/HG story because my husband is not interested in intimacy and never has been. I saved myself until we were married so I didn't know. I used to cry and feel rejected, but as I grew up I saw it wasn't about me. I don't feel rejected anymore, but I'm sure not happy about it. Thanks to you and other generous SS/HG fanfic writers I can have the vicarious enjoyment of someone else's romance and intimacy, especially because they are not real. So you all can give yourselves credit and feel proud for providing a needed service that preserves marriages like mine. You ladies keep at least one woman honest and sane! Keep up the good work.
