Unlike Harry, Lina might have had a huge extended family. Snape did not "rescue" any of Lina's belongings, family photo albums, family phone book, etc., thus condemning her to grow up without blood relatives and personal history mementos. He also tore her away from her relatives, making their lives more sorrowful and empty without her presence. Other than those problems, I enjoyed the story.

Minerva asked as she watched the panic in Slughorn's face, as he realized that these specific students, one Gryffindor and one Slytherin, were not just any students.

Awwww poor Sluggo! I feel so sorry for him! He's set back the anti-choice movement back decades! (LOL- not that that's a bad thing, mind)

Pissed that Minerva kept him on for so long though.

Severus named his kid after the manipulative old codger who ignored Gryffindors bullying him into the arms of Voldemort, enslaved him in the dungeons of Hogwarts for a decade, and then forced him to damage his soul by making him AK someone?

So they started eating their meals together on the floor, where they were joined by more students who were friends with people from other houses. Soon afterwards the Headmistress was forced to include a fifth table in the Great Hall, where people from all houses could sit.

I love the way you've written Lina. And the above scene. And thank goddess someone placed a heroine in Hufflepuff!

It is also my pleasure to announce that Miss Granger is beginning a Ministry apprenticeship with Mr. Herodotus the XX, and will become our world's new Archive Holder upon his retirement."

I love the scene of all those Purebloods being shocked that the Mudblood upstart is going to be writing their histories.

Of all the careers for Hermione in fanfiction, Archive Writer - the person who writes the histories - is the best ever. The second best, a very far second, is the Medicus (mercenary neutral personal physician to anyone who wants it - her client is Voldemort) in Lunalelle's Ascent. Obviously Rowling's choice of Hermione as minor Ministry functionary isn't even in the running.

I like Lina. And her lithp.

I like Hermione having doubts so quickly about Ron. True, she should have realized he was a worthless prat long before she dated him, but she's young, insecure, and hormonal, and had to get him out of her system.

I like the idea of Severus protecting Tonks from Sirius, though I was surprised nobody expressed surprise at Sirius' behavior. I suppose they can't speak ill of the dead.
